About Dr. David Hart
Experience: David served on the White House staff and led a highly successful think tank program, while excelling as a teacher, policy researcher, and administrator at Harvard and George Mason Universities. He has raised millions of dollars from foundations, government agencies, and individuals to support his research and that of his colleagues and students.
Impact: David’s recent work contributed to the expansion of the federal energy R&D budget, the reinvigoration of federal funding for energy demonstration projects, and the creation of the multi-agency Manufacturing USA program, the Department of Energy’s Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations, and the Foundation for Energy Security and Innovation.
Honors and Achievements: David is a lifetime fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, a senior fellow of the Council on Foreign Relations, and served as the co-chair of the National Academies’ Innovation Policy Forum. His books include Energizing America and Unlocking Energy Innovation. He holds a Ph.D. from MIT.
